TEHRAN (IQNA) – Alhamdu Lillah Rabil Alamin (Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds) is a verse in Surah Al-Fatiha, the first chapter of the Quran. That Surah Al-Fatiha is known as the summation of the Quran’s verses shows the importance the Quran attaches to being grateful and thankful to God.

Thankfulness

Saying the phrase Alhamdu Lillah Rabil Alamin is an act of thanking God. Being thankful to God for His blessings also involves staying away from what God has forbidden.

The more thankful to God one is, the more blessing he will receive: “…If you are grateful, I would certainly give to you more.” (Surah Ibrahim, verse 7). Being thankful to God also boosts security and spirituality in one’s life.

As well as thanking God, being thankful to people also causes the increase of blessings because being grateful to others helps one stay away from arrogance and conceit and get closer to God.

God gives the highest status to those who are grateful, a status described in verse 10 of Surah Yunus: “(In it) their supplication will be: ‘Exaltations to You, Allah!’ And their greeting will be: ‘Peace!’ They will end their supplication with ‘Praise be to Allah, Lord of the all the Worlds!’”
