Nat’l Quran Contest Planned in Kyrgyzstan

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Office for Muslims Religious Affairs in Kyrgyzstan plans to organize the first edition of a national Quran competition titled “Spring of Quran”.

 

According to the Iranian Cultural Center in Kyrgyzstan, the central mosque of Jalal Abad Province will host the final stage of the Quranic event.

The preliminary stage of the competition will conclude in regional level by September 15 and top participants will make it to the final stage.

Memorization of 30, 20, and 10 Juzes (parts) of Quran with Tajweed principles observation are the categories of the competition.

Winners will be awarded cash prizes, according to the organizers. 

Kyrgyzstan is a landlocked country with mountainous terrain in Central Asia. It is bordered by Kazakhstan to the north, Uzbekistan to the west and southwest, Tajikistan to the southwest and China to the east. Its capital and largest city is Bishkek.

Official sources estimate that 80 percent of the country’s population is Muslim.
