Int’l Quran Expo Not to Be Held in Ramadan: Official
Abudl Hadi Feqhizadeh told IQNA it was planned for the holy month of Ramadan but will be rescheduled.
“Organizing the expo in Ramadan is not possible. We are examining options to hold it after the holy month,” he said.
Feqhizadeh expressed hope that the decision on the issue will be made by the end of the current Iranian month of Esfand (March 19).
The opening of the 28th Tehran International Quran Exhibition was slated for May 2.
The expo is annually organized by the Iranian Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in the holy month of Ramadan.
It is aimed at promoting Quranic concepts and developing Quranic activities.
The exhibition showcases the latest Quranic achievements in the country as well as a variety of products dedicated to the promotion of the Holy Book.
The novel coronavirus, known as COVID-19, has infected more than 80,000 people around the world. More than 3,500 people have died of the disease.
The outbreak has had a major impact on global sporting, cultural, religious and political events, with a host of events canceled or postponed.
