US' Move about Israeli Settlements 'Abhorrent': Malaysian Muslim NGO
Describing the move as "abhorrent", its president Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid said the unilateral decision was also a recognition of Israeli crimes against the Palestinians and showed that the US foreign policy was now fully subjugated by Israel.
"Legalizing the rampaging of Palestinian lands by Israel to allow Jews to build illegal settlements is satanic to say the least.
The US foreign policies are now in complete subjugation to the crime committed by Israel," he said.
Azmi also questioned how the US, as leader of the so-called free world, could allow Israel to continue perpetuating violence in the occupied territories that has lasted more than 70 years, by killing, bombing, abducting, torturing, robbing and occupying Palestinian lands and saying that they were legal.
The decision, he said also placed the US at odds with virtually the whole world and separated from the Security Council's resolutions which declared the Israeli settlements to be illegal as they were built on occupied Palestinian land.
He said Mapim strongly condemned the recent announcement by US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, stressing that the US policy contravened with the international laws.
"And now the Trump administration is playing the role of projecting the US as nothing more than the larger state of Israel," Azmi added.
He believed that the recent Israel's attack on Gaza and the US announcement of legitimacy of the land grab were a sign that escalation of violence was imminent.
"The recognition sends a very serious implication to world peace." he said.
