Al-Azhar Slams Zionists Raid on Al-Aqsa Mosque
Head of Egypt’s Al-Azhar Islamic Center strongly condemned the raid on Al-Aqsa Mosque by radical Zionists.
Issuing a statement on Thursday, February 27, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayyeb said such moves by the Zionists threaten world peace, Al-Misri Al-Yawm newspaper reported.
“We will never accept Zionist domination over Al-Aqsa Mosque,” Al-Tayyeb underscored.
He further called on Arab and Muslim countries and all the noble people of the world to take a serious stance against the recent aggressions by Zionist extremists on Islamic sanctities.
Tens of Zionist settlers stormed the mosque under the protection of the Israeli police earlier this week.
The frequent violations anger Palestinian Muslims and occasionally lead to violent confrontations.
