WASHINGTON, DC (IQNA) – A Muslim rights group is set to organize a press conference about the ongoing conflict in Gaza and relentless Israeli raids while raising awareness about the occupation of Palestinian land.

The Houston chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Houston) plans to hold an interfaith press conference to condemn the violence of the ongoing bombardment of Gaza, reads a statement on its website.

The press conference will feature religious clergy and faith community members from the Muslim, Christian, and Jewish communities.

The event is set to be held on October 11 at 12 p.m. in CAIR’s office in Texas.

According to the latest figures, at least 950 Palestinians, including 250 children, have been killed and more than 4,000 others injured by Israeli air raids on the Gaza Strip since October 7 after the Hamas resistance movement launched a surprise operation against the regime which killed more than 900 Israelis and injured some 2,500 others.

Palestinian resistance groups stressed that the offensive was a response to decades of occupation, oppression, and desecration of al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli occupiers.

Gaza, which human rights organizations have described as “the largest open-air prison” due to an ongoing 15-year-long inhumane siege and blockade, is home to two million Palestinians, most of whom are refugees from villages and towns occupied by Israel.

“We will be meeting as a multifaith group to denounce the occupation of Palestine and the system of continued violence over the last seven decades,” said CAIR-Houston Director William White.

“It is vital to remember that Palestinians have endured decades of dehumanization and annexation and continue to be persecuted under the governance of the Israeli occupation. The immediate uproar when Israel faces an attack is in stark contrast to the shameful silence over the daily brutality Israel has brought to the Palestinian people for over 75 years. Palestinians are no different than any other people—They want to live free and with dignity on their land.”
