First Female Visually-Impaired Memorizer of Quran Who Got PhD in Islamic Sciences in Egypt

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Susan Abdul Rahim Suleiman is the first female visually-impaired memorizer of the entire Quran who has a PhD in Islamic sciences in Egypt.

 

Susan is from Kum al-Arab Village in the Arab country’s Sohag Governorate.

She says she has never allowed her condition to prevent her from progress in the field of Quran and learning knowledge, according to al-Masrawy website.

Susan got her PhD from Sohaj University of Islamic Sciences in 2011.

She says lack of scholarly books in braille were among the main obstacles for her when she was writing her dissertation.

She spent three years for writing it nonetheless and managed to defend her dissertation with success and get a good grade.

 Susan is now a Quran teacher and also a teacher of computer.
