‘Best Quranic Booklet’ Contest Planned in Iraq

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A contest on writing the best booklet of Quranic teachings is planned to be held in Iraq.

 

Noor-ul-Awla is the title of the competition, to be organized by the Women Quranic Center affiliated to the Islamic and Human Teachings Office of the Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine in Karbala.

According to Al-Kafeel, the competition planned for women aims to help this group in the society to become more familiar with valuable Quranic teachings.

Minar Javad Al-Jabouri, head of the center, said that the contest is among the center’s activities to

Boost women’s cultural and Quranic knowledge.

October 1 is the deadline for sending the works to the center. A committee of Quran experts will evaluate the booklets.

Quranic activities have significantly developed in Iraq since the 2003 overthrow of former dictator Saddam Hussein.

There has been a growing trend of Quranic programs such as competitions, recitation sessions and educational programs held in the country in recent years.
