Chancellor of the University Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mohammad Naqib told IQNA that 950 of them are BA students and the rest are MA students.
He added that a welcome ceremony will be held for them at the university’s 19 faculties on Monday.
They will learn about the university’s regulations and policies at the ceremony, he said.
Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Naqib also noted that currently, 6,000 students are studying at the University of Quranic Sciences and Teachings.
It offers majors in such fields as Quran interpretation, Quranic sciences and Hadith, he went on to say.
