Islam, Hinduism Dialogue Held in Tehran

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The second edition of interfaith dialogue between Islam and Hinduism was held in Tehran on Monday.

 

Attended by Muslim and Hindu scholars from Iran and India, the event was organized by the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization.  

Peace and Justice in view of Islam and Hinduism was the theme of this edition.

Rameshchandra Sinha, head of India’s Philosophical Studies Council, was among the speakers at the forum.

He elaborated on the concept of man getting close to and becoming one with God and the differences in views of Islam and Hinduism on this issue.

Sinha also said that in Hinduism, justice is realized with equality among all classes of society and that discrimination is not allowed.

Justice is materialized when the constructive role of religion is highlighted, he added.

He also said that there are many common grounds between Islam and Hinduism.

Another speaker was Indian cultural attaché in Iran Abhay Kumar Singh who said Islam is the religion of peace, loving one another and good will.
