Workshop in Mashhad Building Gates for Kadhimiya Shrines

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Building new gates for the holy shrines in Kadhimiya, Iraq, began in the northeastern Iranian holy city of Mashhad in 2011.

So far 13 gates have been built and work on the three remaining gates is expected to finish soon.

The framework of the gates is made of teak wood and the rest is made of walnut and plane tree.

Forty artisans have been working to build and gild the gates, which will be sent to Iraq and installed at the holy shrines in Kadhimiya.
