Complementary Course for Prayer Leaders Underway in Sierra Leone

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Iranian Cultural Center in Sierra Leone has organized a complementary religious course for imams of mosques and prayer leaders from different parts of the African country.

  

According to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, the first day of the course was held with the participation of 30 Shia and Sunni preachers at Al-Mustafa International University's branch in Freetown.

Speaking at the program, Meythamizade, director of the academic center, underlined the key role imams of mosques and clerics play in society.

Alireza Faramarzi, Iranian cultural attaché in Sierra Leone, also delivered a speech, saying that the main objective of the program is to promote the level of knowledge and skills of the imams and preachers.

He stressed that religious leaders in society should be role-models for Muslims and live a life based on the Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

“The reasons of instability in the Middle East’s security and solutions for the problem”, “history of Islam; Karbala uprising in view of Sunni Muslims”, “Ethics in Nahjul Balagha; Imam Ali’s (AS) advice to Imam Hassan (AS)”, “practical injunctions of Islam” and “management of mosque” are the themes of the four-day course.
