Iranian MPs Underline Support for IRGC after Downing American UAV
A statement signed by 250 parliamentarians was read out at an opening session of the parliament in Tehran on Sunday morning.
In the statement, the lawmakers said they fully support the IRGC and other armed forces of the Islamic Republic.
They said the downing of the advanced drone surprised senior military analysts in the world, adding that no intruding drone can enter Iranian airspace any more.
The MPs also recommended that the US and its cronies end their past mistakes and acknowledge the Islamic Republic’s power and security.
The IRGC said on Thursday that a US spy drone that violated the Iranian territorial airspace in the early hours of the day was shot down by the IRGC Aerospace Force’s air defense unit near the Kooh-e-Mobarak region in the southern province of Hormozgan.
