Iran’s Memorizer Happy with Performance in Kuwait Int’l Quran Contest

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iranian memorizer of the entire Quran Mohammad Yusef Darvishi said he had a god performance in Kuwait’s international Quran competition.

 

Eleven-year-old Darvishi told IQNA that the panel of judges asked him to read three parts of the Quran from memory in the first stage of the contest and he did it without any problems.

He said the final round is planned to be held on Tuesday and winners will be announced a day later.

According to Darvishi, who is attending the teenage Quran memorizer category, representatives of Nigeria, Lebanon and Pakistan also had good performances in this category.

The 10th edition of Kuwait’s international Quran competition kicked off in the Arab country on April 10 with the participation of 80 countries.

Hamid Reza Moqaddasi from Qom province and Reza Golshahi from Khorasan Razavi are also competing for Iran in the categories of Quran recitation and memorization of the entire Quran.

Last year, Mohammad Javad Delfani and Mehdi Gholamnejad represented Iran in the 9th edition of the international event and Gholamnejad won the second prize in the category of Quran recitation.
