Iraq’s Nujaba Vows to Stand with IRGC

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iraq’s al-Nujaba Movement, a major Shia resistance group, underlined its support for Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), condemning a recent move by the US to label the IRGC as a “terrorist group”.

In separate statements on Tuesday, Nujaba’s political and executive councils condemned the US’ hostile move and said it demonstrated Washington’s failures in its diplomatic and economic wars against the Islamic Republic of Iran.  

They underlined that the US and its mercenaries like the Zionist regime of Israel seeks to keep the flames of war in the region burning.

They added that such a move could not undermine the IRGC as previous sanctions against resistance groups such as Lebanon’s Hezbollah and Iraq’s Nujaba failed to achieve anything.

The council further reiterated Nujaba’s support for the Islamic Republic of Iran and the IRGC.

The Trump administration on Monday designated IRGC as a terrorist group.

Later in the day, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council in turn designated US forces in West Asia, known as the United States Central Command (CENTCOM), as a terrorist organization.
