Int’l Quran Contest for Women: Semifinal Round Kicks Off in Tehran

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The semifinal round of the 3rd international Quran competition for women started here in the Iranian capital on Wednesday morning.

 

The draw for this round was held Tuesday night with the participation of members of the panel of judges as well as contenders from different countries.

According to the draw, Umm Habiba from Indonesia was the first contestant who answered questions of the panel to showcase her Quran memorization mastery.

Aisha Sadiqa from Bangladesh, Zulaikha Davids from South Africa, Ilina Dmitrinko from Russia, Vimana Rahma from Burundi and Maryam Shafiei from Iran are among other contenders in the morning.

Representatives of 26 countries are attending the 3rd international Quran competition for women in Tehran.

It is one of five international Quran contests- along with those for men, visually-impaired, school students and seminary students, being held in Iran on April 10-14.
