Official Highlights Iranians’ Achievements in Int’l Quranic Events
Addressing a program held in Mashhad on Saturday, Mehdi Qarasheikhlu said Iranian Qaris and memorizers have won 200 titles in international Quran competitions since the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
No other Muslim country has managed to set such a record, the official added.
This is only one aspect of the Islamic Republic’s Quranic accomplishments in the past four decades, he said.
The Iranian nation toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime 40 years ago, ending the 2,500 years of monarchic rule in the country.
The Islamic Revolution spearheaded by the late Imam Khomeini (RA) established a new political system based on Islamic values and democracy.
Since the victory of the revolution, Quranic activities have significantly developed in the country.
