Levant Land of Moderation: Syrian Awqaf Minister

DAMASCUS (IQNA) – Syria’s Awqaf and Religious Affairs minister said the Levant is the land of moderation and divine missions, where followers of different Islamic schools and Christianity have come together.

Speaking to IQNA on the sidelines of the 14^th conference of the Muslim world scholars here in the Syrian capital, Mohammad Abdul-Sattar al-Sayyed added that Sunni, Shia, Druze and Christian scholars have gathered in Damascus for the conference.

He also stressed that with the grace of God, the axis of resistance will defeat the US, Israel and their stooges in the region.

The conference began in Damascus on Wednesday morning with with some 500 scholars and religious figures from different countries in attendance.

The Damascus conference has been jointly organized by the office of the Leader’s representative in Syria, the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST), and the Arab country’s Awqaf and Religious Affairs.

WFPIST Secretary General Ayatollah Mohsen Araki and the Syrian Awqaf and Religious Affairs minister are among the main speakers at the event.
