According to the panels of judges, Mehdi Gholam Nejad from Tehran, Seyed Hamid Reza Moqaddasi from Qom and Hadi Movahed Amin from Tehran were the top contenders in the category of Quran recitation.
In memorization of the entire Quran, Mohammad Javad Moradi from Qom, Reza Golshahi from Khorasan Razavi and Navid Razmjoo from Fars were announced as the top winners.
The men’s section of the competition got underway in the central city of Arak on October 2.
According to the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, which organizes the contest annually, women will compete on October 9-14.
Winners will be awarded at the closing ceremony of the contest on October 15.
Iran’s national Quran competition is annually held with the participation of top Quran activists from across the country.
It is aimed at discovering Quranic talents and promoting Quranic activities in society.
