‘Messenger of Mercy’ Forum in Baku Marks Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) Birthday

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A forum titled “Messenger of Mercy” was organized in Baku on the occasion of the birthday anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and the Islamic Unity Week.

According to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the Caucasia Muslims Office held the program in cooperation with the Iranian Cultural Center in Baku.

The Clerical Office of Caucasia Muslims Office hosted the program, which was attended by cultural figures and Muslim scholars and intellectuals.

Addressing the forum, Allahshukur Pashazade, chairman of the office, stressed the necessity of strengthening unity in the Muslim world based on Quranic teachings and Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

He said that the next edition of the forum will be held on December 21 with the participation of more than 200 representatives from different countries, including scholars from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Iran, Turkey, Uzbekistan and India.

The president of Azerbaijan will also participate in the program, he added.

Also speaking at the forum was Asghar Farsi, the Iranian cultural attaché in Baku, who described Islam as a religion of love and mercy, and one that invites to moderation and peaceful coexistence among followers of different religions.

He also highlighted the importance of Muslim unity in a time  when the enemies of Islam try to create divisions in Islamic societies.

Haj Salam Musaov, deputy of the Caucasian Muslims Office, Wasim Muhammad Aliev, and Hojat-ol-Islam Ardabili were other speakers at the forum.
