Mohammad Reza Mosayyebzadeh, director general of the ministry’s Quran, Etrat and Prayers Department, said the next edition of the contest will be organized in 2019.

He added that, like this year’s edition, it will have two categories, namely memorization of the Quran and Quran recitation, Fars reported.

Mosayyebzadeh also noted that Iran’s representatives for the next edition will be selected in the national Quran contest for school students.

The 5th edition of the international Quran competition for school students was held in Iran in April 2017.

School students from 30 countries attended the international Quranic event at the Imam Khomeini Mosalla (prayer hall) in Tehran.
