According to Syria’s official news agency, SANA, the village of Dabin in Homs hosted the ceremony, attended by 120 students who completed the courses.

A number of local officials and religious figures were present at the event.

Moslih al-Salih, a local official, in an address to the ceremony underlined the need for holding more such Quranic courses and promoting the true teachings and values of Islam that call for fraternity, tolerance and amity.

He also stressed the need for the Syrian nation to stand united against Takfiri terrorists’ attempts at desecrating Islamic and human values.

Sheikh Muhammad Abdul Karim, an official with al-Assad Quran Center, in his speech said that the center’s Quranic courses are aimed at promoting the Quranic values and culture.

Quranic activities and programs continue in Syria despite the civil war in the country waged by foreign-backed Takfiri terrorist groups like Daesh (ISIL or ISIS).
